Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-made seating, premium case goods, and décor for the hospitality sector — including hotels, restaurants, and high-end commercial interiors. The company is rapidly growing and seeks a passionate Designer – Furniture, Millwork & Lighting who excels in managing details, possesses a refined eye for design, and is eager to take on a key creative and technical role within a dynamic team.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing shop drawings and 3D renderings for the manufacturing team using SolidWorks (mandatory) and KeyShot. You’ll work closely with the Design Manager, company leadership, and the production team to translate client specifications into accurate, build-ready FF&E items — balancing design intent with practical manufacturing requirements.

Support the Design Manager and Design Technicians in overseeing technical details for case goods, millwork, furniture (including seating and outdoor items), and lighting.

Produce highly detailed shop drawings with accurate measurements, materials, and finish specifications to meet customer requirements.

Collaborate with Project Managers and the Purchasing Coordinator to track design changes and review finish samples as needed.

Communicate directly with manufacturing facilities to ensure product designs meet quality standards and are manufacturable within standard tolerances.

Review and sign off on assembly and installation drawings provided by manufacturers.

Contribute to the company’s standard construction and design guidelines.

Apply technical expertise in millwork, furniture, and lighting to collaborate effectively with clients, manufacturers, and internal teams.

Thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and communicating with interior designers, purchasing groups, and fellow industrial designers.
Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience creating manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.

Proven ability to read, interpret, and develop shop drawings from technical specifications — this is essential.

Strong knowledge of millwork and furniture detailing; lighting experience is a plus.

Experience in luxury hospitality design preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Excellent verbal, written, and design communication skills.

Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

Solid understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and construction standards.

A portfolio showcasing detailed shop drawings and design work within the FF&E / hospitality industry.
