The Senior HR Systems Architecture & Process Optimization Manager is responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing Sonatype's People technology ecosystem to create a scalable, AI-enabled operating model for the future.

This role serves as the strategic owner of HR systems architecture, business process design, system integrations, workflow automation, and technology roadmap execution. Working closely with People Operations, IT, Security, Finance, and business leaders, this position ensures People systems support a seamless employee experience while enabling organizational scale.

The role will lead Sonatype's HR technology transformation initiatives, including HR platform consolidation, AI-enabled workflow redesign, system implementation projects, vendor management, and continuous process improvement. While maintaining strong data governance practices, the role partners with the People Analytics function to ensure systems produce accurate, reliable, and accessible workforce data for business decision-making.

Own the strategic roadmap for the People technology ecosystem.

Serve as primary business owner for HR systems including HRIS, ATS, Performance, Learning, Compensation, and related platforms.

Design scalable system architecture that supports business growth, global expansion, and operational excellence.

Lead system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and vendor relationships.

Evaluate emerging HR technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, employee experience, and organizational capability.

Partner with IT to establish integration architecture, security standards, governance, and ongoing platform performance.

Lead end-to-end redesign of core People processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.

Standardize global HR processes and operating procedures across the employee lifecycle.

Eliminate manual work through workflow redesign, automation, and self-service capabilities.

Document future-state business processes and ensure alignment across HR, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities through Lean process thinking and operational metrics.

Lead the execution of Sonatype's People technology transformation strategy, including:

HR technology consolidation

Platform rationalization

Workflow redesign

System migration planning

Vendor transitions

User acceptance testing

Change management

Production readiness

Partner with functional leaders to ensure successful implementation while minimizing operational disruption.

Identify opportunities to leverage AI throughout People Operations.

Design AI-enabled workflows that reduce manual effort and improve employee and manager self-service.

Partner with IT, Security, and Legal to establish responsible AI governance within People systems.

Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and recommend adoption where they create measurable business value.

Champion AI literacy and responsible use across the HR organization.

Establish governance standards for HR data integrity, system configuration, and master data management.

Ensure systems produce accurate, consistent, and auditable workforce data.

Partner with the People Analytics function to support dashboard development, reporting, and executive insights.

Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting support for strategic projects as needed.

7+ years leading HRIS, HR technology, systems architecture, or People Operations transformation

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise HR technology implementations and system migrations

Experience redesigning end-to-end HR processes

Strong knowledge of HRIS architecture, integrations, APIs, and data governance

Experience managing external technology vendors and implementation partners

Experience leveraging AI and automation technologies within HR

Experience with Rippling, ADP, Lever, 15Five, or comparable enterprise HR platforms preferred

Must be fluent in English, with strong written and communication skills.
