The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing compliance activities across the organization, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, licensing conditions, and internal policies. The role involves managing audits, maintaining compliance frameworks and records, and working with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate regulatory and operational risk.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee compliance audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation and records.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet compliance obligations and deadlines.
  • Liaise with external advisors, auditors, regulators, and service providers as required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with financial crime prevention requirements, including AML/CTF measures.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, license renewals, and statutory submissions.
  • Support Board and senior management with compliance reporting and governance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and information governance requirements.
  • Support corporate social responsibility, employment equity, and transformation initiatives where applicable.
  • Identify compliance risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Proven experience in a compliance or risk management role within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and governance principles.
  • Experience managing audits, compliance programs, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with AML/CTF compliance.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and influence across teams.
