~1 min readAs a Tax Specialist at Sporty, you will lead our tax compliance, planning and functions across all federal, state and municipal levels in Brazil. You will be a key member of the Finance leadership team, providing strategic tax guidance as the company grows and navigates a rapidly evolving regulatory environment — including the ongoing Tax Reform (Reforma Tributária).
Located in our newly established offices in Brazil.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee all Brazilian tax compliance obligations, including federal ancillary filings (SPED, ECF, EFD-ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições, DCTF, DCTFWeb, SCD-IED) and state/municipal taxes (ICMS, ISS);
- →Manage the calculation and reporting of IRPJ/CSLL under Lucro Real;
- →Ensure accurate and timely apuration and payment of PIS/COFINS, IPI and other indirect taxes;
- →Lead tax planning initiatives to lawfully optimise the overall tax burden and support business decisions;
- →Structure and review intercompany transactions, including IOF, IRRF, thin-capitalisation (subcapitalização) rules and BVI/offshore considerations;
- →Coordinate tax controversy and litigation, managing administrative and judicial disputes and liaising with external counsel;
- →Monitor and implement changes arising from the Tax Reform (IBS, CBS, Imposto Seletivo) as regulations are enacted;
- →Respond to tax authority inquiries (Receita Federal, SEFAZ, Prefeituras) and manage audit processes;
- →Prepare tax opinions and risk analyses to support new products, corporate structures and commercial arrangements;
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, Finance and Operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law or Business Administration; postgraduate specialisation in Tax Law or MBA in Tax/Fiscal Management highly valued;
- Relevant years of experience in tax/fiscal roles in Brazil
- Solid command of Brazilian federal, state and municipal tax legislation;
- Hands-on experience with SPED environment (ECF, EFD-ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições);
- Knowledge of intercompany structures involving offshore entities and related Brazilian tax implications (IOF, IRRF, subcapitalização);
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Fluent English;
- Active CRC registration and/or OAB ;
- Experience with Tax Reform (IBS/CBS/IS) implementation or monitoring;
- Experience in the gaming, betting, fintech or online entertainment sectors;
- Manage transfer pricing analyses and documentation under the new OECD-aligned framework (Law 14,596/2023);
