Spreetail propels brands to increase their ecommerce market share across the globe while improving their operational costs. Learn how we are building one of the fastest-growing ecommerce companies in history: www.spreetail.com.

Spreetail is seeking a high-impact Director of FC Operations to lead our Away Team — a small, elite group designed to support facility launches, crisis response, and network-wide operations excellence. This is not a traditional site-based role. You will lead a team embedded across our fulfillment center network, building operational mastery and deploying where we need you most. You will be responsible for the strategic direction of every site you support, total P&L accountability during crisis deployments, and the development of a high-performance leadership bench. When Spreetail opens a new fulfillment center, you will transition into permanent site leadership — equipped with the relationships, operating model fluency, and institutional knowledge to lead from day one.

This role is built for a proven operational leader who is ready to put their toolkit to work across the network before owning their own building. If you thrive on variation, build trust fast in new environments, and want a clear path to site ownership — this is your role.

  • Making Safety Non-Negotiable: Set the safety standard for every site you support. Quickly assess conditions in new environments, eliminate hazards before they become incidents, and treat near-misses as learning opportunities.

  • Total Operational & Financial OwnershipAssume full accountability for P&L and performance metrics at every site you support, ensuring every department hits aggressive targets across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. In crisis deployments, own the turnaround. In stable periods, raise the bar.

  • Network Deployment & Crisis ResponseTravel a minimum of 25% of the time — and potentially more — to assigned and activated facilities across the Spreetail network. When a site becomes a focus, you and your team go there. When the network is stable, you are building for the future.

  • Strategic Labor & Inventory Planning: Orchestrate complex labor models to manage fluctuating domestic and international inbound freight volumes while maintaining 100% on-time shipping execution across the sites you support.

  • Developing a "Leader of Leaders" CultureDirectly mentor and develop your Away Team — including Area Managers and Operations Excellence Managers — building a bench of leaders who can deploy into any environment and perform. Foster a culture of professional growth that travels with the team.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with stakeholders in People & Culture, Transportation, and Vendor Management to align site operations with Spreetail’s global supply chain strategy.

  • Future FC Placement: Prepare to transition into permanent site leadership at a new Spreetail fulfillment center — this placement is a core part of this role’s purpose and your career trajectory with Spreetail. Placement timing is determined by Spreetail’s network expansion plans.

  • Experienced: 5+ years in fulfillment, manufacturing, or distribution (e-commerce preferred).

  • Proven Leader: 5+ years managing salaried leaders and experience overseeing teams of 300+.

  • Safety-Driven: A demonstrated track record of building safety-first cultures — you understand that protecting your team is the foundation of operational excellence, not a separate workstream.

  • Analytical: BS in Engineering, Operations, or an analytical Business field.

  • Adaptable: Comfortable leading in new environments and building trust quickly with teams you haven’t worked with before. You find structure in ambiguity and bring calm to crisis.

  • Relentless: A problem-solver who thrives on optimizing complex systems and never settles for the status quo.

  • Mobile: Willing and able to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, with potential for more based on network needs, and open to relocation when placed at a future Spreetail fulfillment center.

In an effort to Make Spreetail Better, we hire people that are aligned with our values and are passionate about pursuing ecommerce excellence. We believe the right person can learn what is needed to succeed in their role, so we encourage job applicants to apply even if you don't meet all the qualifications listed. We are looking for diverse backgrounds and perspectives, so we don’t require college degrees and welcome non-linear career paths. If this role highlights your experience and gets you excited – please apply!
