Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager - Top of Funnel, this full-time engineer will develop full-stack features that improve how members discover and engage with care. You will be part of the Member Growth team, working at the intersection of product, design, and data to deliver intuitive, reliable user experiences at scale.
The Top of Funnel team owns the critical first steps of a member's journey, from registration and authentication to onboarding and provider matching. Your work will directly influence how millions of people access mental healthcare for the first time.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be in the office 2–3 days per week at our 44 Montgomery Street location. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design and build scalable full-stack and front-end services using Ruby on Rails, React, & GraphQL
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve the top of funnel experience for members looking for care
- →Expand and maintain existing web applications and infrastructure
- →Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- →Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews, and tech debt prioritization
- →Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
- →Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
- →Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
- →Work with product managers and designers to scope and deliver 0-1 product features
- →Break down complex requirements into manageable, shippable units
- →Identify areas for growth and iteration on our application stack and advocate for them on the roadmap
- →Improve self-service capabilities by evolving system architecture
- Delivery: Projects land on time, within scope, and with high stakeholder satisfaction
- Quality: High system uptime and low defect rates through strong testing and observability practices
- Collaboration: Effective partnership with product, design, and data, contributing meaningfully to team goals and alignment
- Ownership: Tasks completed independently, issues resolved proactively, and personal work accurately tracked
- Velocity: Improved team delivery through strong planning, estimation, and execution practices
- Growth: Continuous curiosity, seeking out new technologies and practices to improve engineering outcomes
- 3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on full-stack or front-end development
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Ruby on Rails, Typescript, React
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools such as Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable
- Experience designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs
- Bonus: Experience with growth initiatives, authentication, or registration flows
- Experience working in a healthcare or mental health tech environment
The target base salary range for this position is $138,000 - $161,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
