KKR is a leading global investment firm that offers alternative asset management as well as capital markets and insurance solutions. KKR aims to generate attractive investment returns by following a patient and disciplined investment approach, employing world-class people, and supporting growth in its portfolio companies and communities. KKR sponsors investment funds that invest in private equity, credit and real assets and has strategic partners that manage hedge funds. KKR’s insurance subsidiaries offer retirement, life and reinsurance products under the management of Global Atlantic Financial Group. References to KKR’s investments may include the activities of its sponsored funds and insurance subsidiaries.
The Global Client Solutions Group (“KCS”) is KKR’s dedicated investor solutions team. KCS, formerly known as
the Client and Partner Group, or CPG, was first formed in 2009 to invest in and focus on KKR’s relationships with current and potential investors. The Private Equity Product Strategies team, which is part of KKR’s Global Client Solutions (KCS) team, works exclusively with the firm’s Private Equity platform to provide ongoing LP support including raising, marketing and structuring funds, as well as maintaining an ongoing dialogue with investors.
The team collaborates with investment professionals and the deal teams to understand the current portfolio, deal pipeline and overall market dynamics. The team participates in fundraising activities and is also responsible for the diligence process, where a number of requests can be rather technical in nature and the volume and cadence can be quite heavy and involved. Other ad-hoc tasks for the KCS Product Strategy team include creating quarterly presentations, consistently updating marketing materials, and drafting letters to communicate complex and nuanced topics to a wide range of audiences.
The Private Equity Strategies Team (within KCS) is looking for an Associate to be based in New York. The new addition to the team will work exclusively within the Private Equity strategies on everything from raising, marketing and structuring funds, to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with investors as well as providing ongoing LP support.
The successful candidate will also work closely with the investment professionals and deal teams to understand the current portfolio, deal pipeline and overall market dynamics. Specific responsibilities will include creating and updating marketing materials and quarterly presentations as well as handling client specific and bespoke follow-up requests and projects. The successful candidate will also participate in live fundraising for private markets products and will be heavily involved in the highly technical diligence process with clients.
Qualified candidates will have spent 2-3 years as an Analyst or Associate at an investment bank or asset management firm, as an investment banker, investor, or client-facing professional. Ideally, candidates will have been in a group that offers exposure to private markets products and have a good understanding of the private equity market and competitive landscape. The hire will act as a gateway for global sales teams to access information on our Private Equity strategies and will interact regularly with multiple areas of the firm. We are looking for team-oriented candidates with strong analytical backgrounds, outstanding oral and written communication skills, maturity, presence, and sound judgment.
- Proven ability to manage demands of multiple teams and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently and handle heavy workloads while remaining attentive to detail
- Aptitude for critical and creative thinking across the quantitative and qualitative spectrum
- Quick learner with clear intellectual curiosity and self-motivation
- Interest in broader fundraising and product development
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read information/situations from varying perspectives and tailor messages to suit different audiences
- Meticulous organization skills with an emphasis on strong attention to detail
- Technical and aesthetic mastery of PowerPoint and Excel
- Content driven with the ability to communicate complex topics to a wide range of audiences
- Maturity, presence, sound judgment, and ability to form and express opinions and ideas effectively to cross-divisional teams including senior management
- Strong relationship development skills, including over the phone with global teams and with individuals of whom work is being requested
- Positive attitude with a willingness to help out wherever necessary
