St. Anne's-Belfield School seeks a full-time Social Studies Teacher and Advisor for the Grade 6 Humanities program. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore ideas, ask meaningful questions, and engage deeply with the study of history, culture, citizenship, and human experience in a student-centered classroom.

In Grades 5–8, English and Social Studies are taught as distinct disciplines while maintaining a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary approach. The Grade 6 Social Studies teacher partners closely with the Grade 6 English teacher to design and implement a curriculum that cultivates empathy, critical thinking, communication, and civic understanding.

The Grade 6 Social Studies course centers on the study of world religions and examines how varied belief systems have shaped cultures, societies, and human history. Through the analysis of primary sources, texts, artifacts, and media, students develop historical thinking, critical inquiry, communication, and research skills while exploring diverse perspectives and engaging in respectful discussion. In collaboration with the Grade 6 English course, students complete a variety of writing and research projects that deepen their understanding of course content and cultivate empathy, cultural literacy, and civic understanding.
