This job contributes to Starbucks success by using functional expertise to create and maintain the Reserve & Roastery Experience for our retail leadership teams. Specialists are responsible for the success of specific functions of Reserve and Roastery store operations. Using their deep knowledge and understanding of assigned specialties, Specialists are a part of the retail leadership team, working to build and execute strategies, build capability, and drive operational excellence through their specific function(s). Specialists play an active role in leadership activities, acting as management coverage based on business needs. Specialists will work with the director, senior operations manager and operations managers to develop partner capabilities, including coaching and recognition for store partners. This role is based on-site at a Reserve or Roastery location and requires open availability to ensure the incumbent can meet the needs of the business. As an inventory specialist, you will: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Organization & Merchandising • Ensures customer and partner areas are well maintained and organized enabling partners to operate with excellence • Ensures visual merchandising tools such as merchandising atlas and planograms are in use to maintain visually appealing customer areas • Works shoulder-to-shoulder with the sr operations managers, operations managers and cross-functional partners to ensure customer-facing areas meet brand standards • Ensures back-of-house areas are clean, safe, and well- maintained to 5S standards • Coordinates with operations managers to ensure front-of-house areas are well-organized and maintained Availability & Accuracy • Leads inventory accuracy, ensuring stores have the right product and quantities to grow sales and minimize waste • Maintains accurate food and beverage pars that meet customer demand while minimizing waste • Collaborates with sr operations managers, operations managers, and cross-functional partners to validate that inventory availability aligns with customer needs and business fluctuations • Communicates inventory availability issues promptly with the leadership team and store partners • Ensures inventory is accurately accounted for and inventory issues are resolved promptly Ops Standards & Continuous Improvement • Validates store systems and processes are in place to support operational excellence and builds leadership team capability • Maintains store organization by using pars, schematics, and assessments, and validates delivery readiness • Conducts operational assessments to validate compliance standards and promptly addresses any identified gaps • Identifies operational opportunities and executes a plan to close gaps to elevate the Starbucks Reserve Experience • Role models personal growth and holds oneself and others accountable for achieving results • while living Our Mission and Values • Spends time shoulder- to shoulder with operations managers to problem-solve inventory issues Business Acumen & Problem Solving • Identifies barriers to growth and is focused on collaboration that drives results • Regularly reviews Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying areas to influence decision making • Collaborates with sr operations manager, operations managers and cross-functional partners to establish data-driven business plans • Works with sr operations manager and operations managers to capture steps needed to close standards gaps and identify opportunity gaps • Leverages shoulder-to-shoulder time to support zone priorities and build partner capability • Identifies barriers in area of expertise and provides recommendations and guidance to the sr operations manager and operations manager team and escalates identified opportunities to the store director when necessary Prioritizing & Planning • Has a plan in place to prioritize the right work and achieve established goals • Builds an intentional calendar that includes time to address key priorities • Remains up to date on all retail communications and retail planning materials • Creates space to adapt to the unexpected to support the business • Plans intentional shoulder-to- shoulder time with sr operations manager, operations managers and peers to lead change and elevate the customer experience • Works with the director, sr operations manager and operations manager team to prioritize and support key business priorities Culture, Collaboration & Communication • Collaborates with partners to share key information and influence decision making that drives excellence • Provides leaders with relevant decision-making information to ensure they can articulate the plan and problem - solve appropriately • Collaborates with the sr operations managers, operations managers, peers in and across markets and cross-functional partners to deliver operational excellence and elevate the Starbucks Reserve Experience • Role models a learning environment that encourages continuous improvement and solution-oriented thinking • Contributes to an inclusive and accessible environment for all partners • Celebrates partner contributions through recognition programs and encourages others to do the same • Leads as a Community Champion learning what matters to the community and gets the team involved in locally relevant initiatives We’d love to hear from people with: · Progressively responsible retail or restaurant management experience · 21+ years of age · Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures · Ability to carry 35lbs. on a consistent basis · Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications · Additional languages beneficial · Proficiency using store computer systems and programs, including Microsoft 365 · Effective oral & written communication skills · Organization, planning, and prioritization skills · Strong problem-solving skills · Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information · Education: High school/GED As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits.
