This job contributes to Starbucks success by supervising daily environmental, health and safety activities in accordance with standardized corporate safety management systems. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. As a supervisor Environmental, Health, and Safety, you will: Create and sustains a cohesive and positive work environment while ensuring compliance with established safety programs. Ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant and department information to managers, peers, and own work team, including supervisors, leads and partners. Ensure partner development and satisfaction. Provides partners with timely performance feedback. Serves as a technical expert and coach for team members. Supports partners in presenting ideas for improving sites safety culture. Coordinate the delivery and execution of all site required regulatory training. Participates in scheduling and completing regulatory audits and safety risk assessments. Use lean tools to facilitate safety incident investigations identifying root cause and corrective actions to prevent further reoccurrence. Serve as a point person for departmental inquiries and responds or escalates appropriately Support tracking and preparation of environmental reporting requirements for local, state, and federal agencies Operate within established budget and supports implementation of safety improvement initiatives. Support all established plant goals and objectives. Apprises mange of team progress and any obstacles. Demonstrate and understands safety as our core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforces and coaches others to do the same coaches others to do the same. Understand and follows established safety guidelines, consistently complies with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out). Act as a safety change agent (e.g. CPR/First Aid certification; active engagement in safety committee, drives safety initiatives for department). Support food safety, legality and quality programs. Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitors and documents quality measures using analytical tools. Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values We’d love to hear from people with: Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent Safety professional qualification Skills (minimum skills required): Ability to work with a diverse team environment Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs Team building skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to provide technical and regulatory leadership Problem solving skills Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor Ability to influence peer group Working knowledge and ability to interpret regulatory standards such as OSHA, DEP, DOT, NFPA and etc.) Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified): Environmental, health, and safety in an industrial setting (3yrs) Training development and delivery (1yr) Supervisor experience (1yr) Relocation eligible -If not currently in Minden City, NV Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
