St. Edmund's Academy
Upper School Math Teacher
St. Edmund’s Academy seeks an educator with a passion for mathematics for an Upper School Math Teacher position. The Upper School Math Teacher works collaboratively with other teachers in the division to support all fifth through eighth grade students’ success in the math program.
The Upper School Math Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum with joy and creativity while collaborating with colleagues to ensure alignment with the school’s philosophy and practices. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching at least one section of Prealgebra, Algebra, or Geometry, leading targeted small group instruction, using assessment data and knowledge of students to meet individual learning and developmental needs, and communicating collaboratively with parents. In addition to instructional tasks, the Upper School Math Teacher completes non-instructional duties (e.g. recess supervision, dismissal duty, etc.), supports community initiatives, and serves as an Advisor, playing a central role in supporting students’ academic and social well-being.
Candidates must have an outstanding record teaching middle school-aged students. The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative is essential. Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication are expected. The candidate must model and champion the school’s core values including an overt commitment to inclusion and belonging for all members of the school’s diverse community.
Teachers with strong mathematical content knowledge and dedication to building meaningful relationships with middle school students in a highly collaborative environment shaped by strong core values will enjoy this professional opportunity. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
