SteerBridge is seeking a Strategic Process Subject Matter Expert to support an anticipated Headquarters Marine Corps engagement at the Pentagon. This senior-level position will provide strategic planning, operational analysis, executive communications, and decision-support services to senior Marine Corps leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience supporting Headquarters Marine Corps, senior military or civilian executives, and complex logistics or operational-planning initiatives. This individual must be able to translate strategic guidance, operational requirements, and technical information into clear recommendations, executive briefings, and decision-quality products.

This position is contingent upon SteerBridge receiving the contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic planning, analysis, and process-improvement support to Headquarters Marine Corps leadership.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic guidance, operational concepts, and logistics initiatives.
  • Analyze complex operational, organizational, policy, and resource-management issues.
  • Translate senior-leader guidance into actionable plans, recommendations, and executive-level deliverables.
  • Develop executive presentations, decision briefs, background papers, talking points, speeches, and other senior-leader communications.
  • Support preparations for congressional engagements, testimony, senior governance forums, and executive decision meetings.
  • Coordinate across Headquarters Marine Corps offices, functional stakeholders, Service Components, Combatant Commands, and external organizations.
  • Support initiatives connected to Force Design, global logistics, readiness, and future operational requirements.
  • Evaluate organizational processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, coordination, accountability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Track strategic initiatives, decisions, milestones, risks, and action items through completion.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and concise recommendations to General Officer, Senior Executive Service, and other senior-level stakeholders.
  • Support sensitive or classified discussions and products at the TS/SCI level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least eight years of relevant experience supporting strategic planning, military operations, logistics, policy, or organizational transformation.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Headquarters Marine Corps or a closely related Department of Defense organization.
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings, strategic guidance, background papers, talking points, or decision-support products.
  • Strong understanding of Marine Corps organization, missions, planning processes, and senior-level decision-making.
  • Experience communicating with General Officers, Senior Executive Service personnel, senior government officials, or equivalent executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret broad strategic guidance and convert it into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite at the Pentagon.
  • Prior service as a Marine Corps field-grade officer, senior enlisted leader, senior civilian, or equivalent contractor supporting HQMC.
  • Experience with Marine Corps logistics, Force Design, global posture, prepositioning, or operational planning.
  • Familiarity with Planning, Programming, Budgeting, Execution, and Assessment processes.
  • Experience supporting congressional testimony, executive governance boards, or three- or four-star-level communications.
  • Master’s degree in national security, strategic studies, logistics, public policy, business, or a related field.

This position is being recruited in support of an upcoming federal proposal. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon SteerBridge receiving the contract award, final government approval, verification of qualifications and clearance, and confirmation of funding and position availability. The anticipated award and start dates are subject to change.
