District Manager In Training

Store Space Self Storage is seeking a motivated, growth-oriented professional to join our team as a District Manager in Training (DMIT) based in the Atlanta, GA area. This role is designed to develop your leadership capabilities across all facets of multi-site self-storage operations, preparing you to independently manage a district of store locations. 

This position earns an annual salary starting at $75,000 based on experience and is bonus-eligible. A DAY IN THE LIFE 

 

As a District Manager in Training, you will work alongside experienced district leadership to develop the skills needed to manage a portfolio of self-storage locations. Your training will span all aspects of district operations, including: 

 

• Shadowing and supporting a District Manager in day-to-day operations across assigned store locations in the Atlanta metro area 

• Learning to coach store-level teams on sales techniques, customer service standards, and operational procedures 

• Developing proficiency in P&L management, budget oversight, and performance reporting 

• Supporting customer satisfaction initiatives and resolving escalated issues 

• Conducting store audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, brand appearance, and operational guidelines 

• Participating in recruiting, onboarding, and team development activities 

• Building relationships with corporate support functions including marketing, HR, and finance 

 

This is a structured development program with a clear path to a District Manager role. You will have high expectations set for you, and in return, you will receive dedicated mentorship, hands-on training, and a roadmap for advancement. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Required: 

• Located in or willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA metro area 

• 1–2+ years of multi-unit, P&L, or customer service leadership experience 

• 2+ years of management experience in a retail, commercial, or service-based environment 

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the district (vehicle allowance provided) 

• Ability to work weekends or extended hours as business needs require 

• Strong computer literacy with ability to learn new applications quickly 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) 

Preferred: 

• Experience in self-storage, commercial real estate, or multi-site retail operations 

• Familiarity with CRM platforms and operations management software 

• Background in sales and/or collections 

• Demonstrated track record of developing team members and driving measurable results 

 

WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION 

This is a full-time, in-market position based in the Atlanta, GA area. Stores in the District may be open various hours between Monday through Sunday. Weekend work may be necessary. Occasional travel to corporate headquarters in Winter Garden, FL may be required. 

As a District Manager in Training, on-site presence across your assigned stores is expected during the training period. Remote flexibility may be available in limited capacity as you progress toward independent district management.
