Packaging Lead

The Packaging Lead oversees daily packaging operations to ensure cannabis products are accurately, efficiently, and compliantly prepared for distribution. This role coordinates workflow, trains and supports packaging team members, and ensures all products meet quality, labeling, and regulatory standards. The Packaging Lead is responsible for monitoring productivity, maintaining packaging supplies and equipment, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures throughout the packaging process.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Responsible for processing and packaging all manufactured cannabis products. The technician is required to use various manual and automated types of packaging equipment as well as maintaining the equipment for daily use, including cleaning and troubleshooting.
- →On top of being a hands-on role, the packaging lead is responsible for uplifting and motivating the packaging team.
- →The packaging lead will work with the packaging manager to prioritize workflow and product demand.
- →This person is responsible for making sure packaging associates are performing work in a safe and clean manner while also encouraging efficiency to ensure production KPI’s and metrics are hit.
- →This person is responsible for working within the State mandated inventory control system to ensure compliance with labeling and inventory controls.
Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in a packaging, production, or manufacturing role; cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
- Previous leadership experience or lead-level responsibilities required.
- Strong knowledge of packaging processes, quality standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to train, motivate, and guide team members with professionalism and clarity.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with tracking systems, spreadsheets, or cannabis compliance software (e.g., METRC).
- Remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations.
- Ability to communicate through various formats including email and phone.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends, if requested.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain all state-required cannabis badging, which requires pre-employment background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license or state ID card.
- Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for long durations.
- Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Allergen warnings - Potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
- May require daily use of provided PPE.
