Open Distribution is a brand-new area within StubHub’s product and tech organization, where we are building the future of partner inventory synchronization. As an Software Engineer - I on the Open Distribution team, you will contribute to the development and evolution of 0-to-1 systems that power millions of ticket transactions. You’ll leverage AI-driven tooling, agents, and automation to accelerate and simplify integrations, enabling our platform to scale rapidly using LLMs and tools such as OpenAI and Claude models
This role is designed for early-career engineers and new graduates who want hands-on production experience, strong mentorship, and exposure to modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and GenAI tools such as Claude, in a collaborative team environment. You’ll work closely with Staff Engineers, Senior Engineers, and SDE II peers, contributing meaningful code while growing your technical skills.
AI Tooling and Infrastructure:
- Use AI-assisted development tools (including Claude and other GenAI technologies) to support debugging, learning, documentation, and developer productivity
New Feature Development
- Implement features, enhancements, and bug fixes in backend services that support partner inventory ingestion, synchronization, and marketplace publishing
- Learn and apply distributed systems concepts, including event-driven architectures, APIs, and data processing pipelines
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, pairing sessions, and team collaboration
- Contribute to improving partner-facing APIs, error handling, and internal tooling
- Learn how to diagnose production issues using logging, monitoring, and observability tools
- Gain hands-on experience using GenAI tools like Claude as part of real-world engineering workflows
- Contribute to high-impact systems used by millions of customers and partners
- Take ownership of production code early in your career, with guidance and support
- Grow on a team that values collaboration, curiosity, feedback, and continuous learning
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Recent graduate or software engineer with internship, co-op, or substantial academic project experience
- →Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
- →Familiarity with at least one backend programming language like Java, Python, or Golang
- →Basic experience building or consuming APIs and experience working with LLM frameworks and AI Platforms such as Anthropic or ChatGPT either in school or on side projects
- →Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
