The City of Fayetteville is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as its next Deputy Director of Public Services. This key leadership position plays a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of the City’s public services operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of essential infrastructure and maintenance services that directly impact the quality of life for residents and businesses. The ideal candidate is: Experienced in Stormwater Management and Infrastructure Systems Possesses a strong working knowledge of stormwater systems, drainage infrastructure, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to plan, maintain, and improve systems that support long-term community resilience and environmental compliance. An Effective and Engaging Communicator Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, elected officials, and staff, effectively addressing concerns, explaining complex issues in understandable terms, and fostering trust through transparency and responsiveness. A Skilled Leader in People Management and Team Development Brings proven experience in supervising, mentoring, and developing staff, while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment that emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. Results-Oriented with a Strong Execution Focus Known for a proactive, solutions-driven approach and a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes. Effectively prioritizes competing demands, meets deadlines, and ensures projects and initiatives are completed efficiently and successfully. Highly Proficient in Report Writing and Documentation Exhibits exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional reports, presentations, and documentation that support informed decision-making and maintain organizational transparency. Salary The hiring range for this position is from $104,818 – $115,000.
