We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:
The Technical Trainer will report to the Vice President Maintenance and Engineering and will lead and manage the technical training function to ensure maximum training quality, client satisfaction and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will develop, implement, administer and maintain technical training programmes for Maintenance and Engineering personnel to ensure technical competency, safety performance and regulatory compliance are maintained across the airline.
The incumbent will be responsible for training material development, curriculum development, instructor management, scheduling training programmes, maintaining accurate technical training records, monitoring training effectiveness, and promoting continuous improvement in training methods, systems and standards. The duration of this contract will be two (2) years.
- Administers and maintains a high quality standard of technical training in the Maintenance and Engineering Division.
- Develops, maintains and modifies training courses and programmes to meet regulatory requirements and ensures that all courses are approved in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Develops and delivers training curricula for review and approval by the Quality Manager.
- Defines, accepts and monitors subcontracted training programmes to ensure adequate standards are achieved.
- Develops strategies for internal trainers to acquire the training methods, knowledge, skillsets and visual aids required to deliver training courses in-house.
- Liaises with the Quality Manager on matters related to the authorisation and licensing of personnel.
- Reviews examination trends, provides feedback to management and makes suitable recommendations for improvement.
- Develops and maintains accurate technical training records for internal, external and contracted personnel.
- Designs, develops and monitors Apprenticeship and Engineer Trainee Programmes to ensure effectiveness.
- Monitors training procedures, manuals and materials and submits proposals to optimise quality and effectiveness.
- Introduces and promotes new training methods, techniques and teaching aids to instructors.
- Manages mandatory and developmental training requirements for Technical Training personnel.
- Monitors and reports on monthly departmental KPIs, prepares annual budgets and monitors monthly operational expenditure.
- Performs such other duties outside the normal scope of responsibilities that may be required to maximise efficiency, productivity, teamwork, customer relations and the overall operations of the company.
Requirements
~1 min readAs the preferred candidate, you must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence issued by the TTCAA
- Company Aircraft Authorisation on both Caribbean Airlines fleet types in at least two categories, and a Train the Trainer qualification.
- A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Aviation Maintenance and Engineering or a related field, at least five (5) of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
- Working knowledge of current TTCAA regulations is required.
