Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications is responsible for providing senior-level leadership and oversight of Caribbean Airlines’ corporate communications function, including internal and external communications, media relations, communications channel management, stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility, and crisis communications.
The incumbent supports the development and execution of the corporate communications strategy and leads the coordination, integration, and implementation of communications initiatives across public relations, digital and social media, internal communications, events activation, and brand reputation management, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with organisational priorities. He/she will be expected to work closely with the Executive Management Team, internal business units, media houses, agencies, government stakeholders, and other external partners.
- External Communications - Develop and execute the organisation’s external communications and media relations agenda, including media engagement, press materials, proactive brand positioning, and monitoring and reporting on media coverage to support and protect the airline’s reputation.
- Crisis Communications - Support a structured crisis management framework through proactive planning, coordinated decision-making, and clear, timely communications that safeguard business continuity, stakeholders, and organisational assets.
- Corporate Social Responsibility - Lead the corporate social responsibility strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and brand positioning while delivering high-impact initiatives that strengthen stakeholder trust and create measurable social value.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management - Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media houses, agencies, government stakeholders, community partners, and industry contacts.
- Internal Communications & Channel Management - Lead communications planning and messaging across internal and external channels, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and able to serve as brand ambassadors.
- People Management - Lead, coach, and develop the Corporate Communications team through effective performance management, guidance, capability-building, and career development support.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. Postgraduate qualification will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a management-level communications, public relations, corporate affairs, or related role, preferably within a multi-national or complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge and experience in media relations across the Caribbean region.
- Strong knowledge of government and stakeholder environments in Trinidad and Tobago and other territories in which the company operates.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the airline industry and a strong network within and outside of the industry.
- Exemplary writing, editing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic communications, public relations, media relations, and channel management capability.
- Demonstrated crisis communications and issues management capability.
- Strong leadership, team management, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Excellent relationship management, influencing, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project management, analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving capability.
- Innovative mindset with strong business awareness, cultural awareness, and customer focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, comprehensive knowledge of digital/social media platforms and website management.
The successful candidate must be legally authorised to work in Trinidad & Tobago.
