We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Symplicity Brazil team and contribute to the development, enhancement, and reliability of our software solutions. In this role, you will work closely with our U.S.-based Engineering, Professional Services, and Implementation teams, helping deliver high-quality solutions to clients and ensuring that custom logic, integrations, and deployments perform reliably in production. This position combines software engineering, systems integration, quality engineering, troubleshooting, and client-focused product delivery. It is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build strong technical expertise while gaining exposure to global SaaS products, enterprise environments, and real-world client implementations. As you will collaborate regularly with colleagues in the United States, advanced conversational English is essential. To support your continued development, Symplicity provides an English development program led by a dedicated full-time instructor.
  • Develop, test, validate, and maintain custom software solutions and client-specific configurations.
  • Validate and test SAML 2.0 / SSO integrations with external systems before and after production deployment.
  • Test application logic, integrations, and customizations to ensure reliability, performance, and expected behavior.
  • Use SQL and relational databases to perform data validation, troubleshooting, and consistency checks.
  • Investigate and resolve issues across staging and production environments through log analysis, debugging, issue reproduction, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Implementation, Professional Services, Engineering, and other technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Support software deployments and production releases, ensuring changes are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Use Git and version control systems as part of the software development and deployment workflow.
  • Document technical solutions, client-specific logic, integrations, configurations, and data structures.
  • Contribute to improving testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and software delivery processes.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Symplicity's products, architecture, integrations, and client use cases.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Develop and maintain features using PHP technologies.
  • Professional or internship experience in software engineering, systems engineering, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
    • Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
    • Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues using logs, testing, debugging, and structured problem-solving.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Advanced conversational English, with the ability to communicate effectively with U.S.-based colleagues in meetings and day-to-day collaboration.
  • Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-based software environment.
  • Experience with software implementations, client customizations, integrations, or Professional Services.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, deployment processes, or DevOps practices.
  • Experience with web technologies and API integrations.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and production release processes.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing, product-oriented, or implementation-focused technical environment.
  • Understanding of SAML 2.0, SSO, APIs, or system integrations, is a plus.
  • Experience in higher education technology, EdTech, or career services technology is a plus.
