Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, is looking for a highly talented Paid Media Manager to join our team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute paid media strategies across multiple platforms, including but not limited to Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, Snapchat, and programmatic advertising.
- Plan and optimize campaigns for user acquisition and retention while managing budgets to hit key ROI and ROAS targets.
- Implement end-to-end campaign management: from concept and audience targeting to creatives and performance optimization.
- Continuously measure, analyze, and optimize campaign performance to improve engagement, conversions, and lifetime value (LTV).
- Leverage A/B testing frameworks to fine-tune ad creatives, copy, audiences, bidding strategies, and landing pages.
- Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau) to generate insights and actionable recommendations for campaigns.
- Partner with creative teams to brief and develop high-impact ad creatives that align with brand and performance goals.
- Work closely with the Head of Paid Media to plan the quarterly budget allocation and track performance against targets.
- Liaise with growth, CRM, and product teams to ensure alignment on user experience and messaging consistency across touchpoints.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging advertising platforms, and technologies to identify new growth opportunities.
- Benchmark campaigns against competitors and industry performance standards.
- Experiment with innovative ad formats and channels (e.g., CTV, native ads) to stay competitive in the dynamic app-based marketplace.

- Strong knowledge of Paid media channels including Google Ads (Search, Display, Shopping & Youtube), META and TikTok
- DV360 and SA360 experience (Beneficial)
- Demonstrated knowledge of data analytics tools including Google Analytics and MMPs such as Adjust or Appsflyer
- Certifications: Google Ads & Google Analytics (Required)
- Understanding of ASO and SEO (beneficial)
- Google Tag Manager experience(beneficial)
- Advanced analytic and reporting skills required
- Proficient in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting standards
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing or Marketing or equivalent or Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
- Proven experience (3+ years) managing multi-channel paid media campaigns in an ecommerce or on-demand brand environment.
- Strong proficiency in tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, and programmatic platforms (e.g., DV360).
- Solid analytical skills and experience with tools like Google Analytics, Data Studio, or similar.
- Strong understanding of attribution models, customer lifetime value (CLV), and incremental lift measurement.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and estimating campaign costs effectively.
- Previous experience in apps focused on delivery services or food, groceries, and retail verticals.
- Familiarity with customer segmentation and retargeting strategies tailored for marketplaces.
- Knowledge of SQL, Looker, or other data query tools is a plus.
- Exposure to affiliate/partner marketing and influencer collaborations.
