Title: National Account Manager
Reporting line: Head of Channel
Department: Commercial
Location: Kilbrew, Ashbourne, Co.Meath (temporary working location – Stratus House, Blanchardstown)
Working Pattern: Office hours 9 – 5pm, hybrid working available (3:2 - office:home)

 

Overview:

In this strategic role within the organisation, your prime remit will be to develop, manage and build relationships with a select number of major customer groups within one of our Business Channels in order to ensure continuous sales growth, enhanced profitability and strategic business development of the company.

 

Reporting to one of our Head of Channel, you will assume full P&L responsibility for the customer groups assigned to you.

 

You will, through effective business planning processes, identify appropriate initiatives in the areas of channel planning, promotional strategies and account profitability modelling, in order to add mutual value to the relationships with these key customers. 

 

With broad experience gained from an Account Management or similar role within a blue-chip FMCG environment, you will be able to demonstrate a highly progressive sales career coupled with experience of developing and implementing channel strategies.

 

 In addition, your skills in initiating, developing and leading contemporary "best practice" sales techniques for Account, Channel and Category Management will be proven and immediately apparent.

 

Because of the demanding nature of this role the successful candidate will need to have the ability to effectively influence at all levels and have the demonstrable drive, enthusiasm and capability to achieve the high expectations demanded of the role.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel at National Account Head Offices.
  • Development of solutions that best addresses customers’ needs while meeting the company’s business requirements.
  • Implementation of our Revenue Growth Management Principles
  • Full P&L responsibility for customers/channels assigned to you.
  • Proactively collaborate with the company’s Marketing, Category Insight and Sales Operations teams in establishing strategic direction of the organisations long term business plans.
  • Continuously deliver accurate and timely forecast requirements to assist/drive planning process.
  • Key stakeholder in the development and commercialisation of the company’s category strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction rating that meet company standards.
  • Assist Head of Channel in negotiations with major customer groups in the area of Trading Terms and Conditions and also Joint Business Planning Agreements.

  • To demonstrate foresight in grasping margin enhancing opportunities while pre-empting challenges
  • Demonstrate that you are organised and efficient at time management
  • A proven “Self Starter” with the ability to work proactively alone or as part of a team
  • Can do attitude with a pro-active/ problem-solving approach

 

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Previous experience in an FMCG organisation (or similar) would be an advantage.
  • Business qualification desirable but not essential
