Temporal's Global Events & Field Marketing Team is seeking a Senior Events & Field Marketing Manager to lead the planning, execution, and operational management of Replay, our annual developer conference series, while also supporting our regional field marketing portfolio. Reporting to the Global Lead, Events & Field Marketing, you will directly own and execute critical Replay workstreams while leading cross-functional stakeholders responsible for conference delivery. You will also serve as a strategic partner on technical programming, developer audience engagement, and the overall conference experience.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and requires exceptional collaboration, operational rigor, and attention to detail. You will play a key role in scaling Replay into a world-class developer conference that fosters meaningful engagement, showcases innovation, and strengthens the Temporal community.
The ideal candidate is an experienced conference leader with deep expertise in developer events and technical audiences. You bring a strong understanding of developer communities, proven partnerships with Developer Relations, Product, and Engineering teams, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling conference experiences. You thrive at the intersection of conference production, community engagement, and technical storytelling.
In this role, you will oversee critical event workstreams, collaborate closely with DevRel, Marketing, Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Partnerships teams, and help shape the future of Replay as a premier conference for developers, architects, and engineering leaders.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Internal Workstream Ownership & Program Management: Directly own and execute critical Replay workstreams while leading and coordinating a broader team of internal stakeholders responsible for speaker management, sponsor management, event website management, attendee communications, conference promotions, registration and ticketing, sales meeting programs, partnership activations, workshops, and community experiences. Ensure alignment, accountability, and seamless execution across all facets of Replay.
- →Technical Program & Developer Conference Strategy: Serve as a strategic partner to Developer Relations, Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing teams to shape Replay's technical vision and attendee experience. Provide guidance on keynote themes, technical storytelling, demo concepts, workshop experiences, content tracks, developer learning journeys, and community engagement opportunities. Identify innovative ways to showcase Temporal's technology through demos, customer stories, hands-on experiences, and technical activations.
- →Speaker & Content Program Management: Partner with technical stakeholders to build and operationalize Replay's speaker and workshop programs. Support session planning, abstract reviews, keynote & demo development, workshop content, and technical programming processes to deliver a best-in-class experience for speakers and attendees.
- →Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Marketing, Developer Relations, Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership teams to align stakeholders around event objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success metrics.
- →Event Operations & Production: Oversee the on-site execution of assigned workstreams, ensuring operational excellence across all attendee touchpoints. Lead real-time problem solving, manage stakeholder communications, and drive successful event delivery in fast-paced live environments.
- →Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Establish and measure workstream KPIs, attendee engagement metrics, and business outcomes. Conduct post-event analysis, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement scalable processes to support the continued growth of the Replay conference series.
- →Field Marketing Support: Support regional field marketing programs throughout the year and provide guidance on technical programming, developer audience engagement, and event strategy where appropriate.
- 10+ years of experience in event marketing, conference production, event operations, or conference program management within SaaS developer tools, infrastructure, cloud, platform, open source, or other highly technical software companies.
- Extensive experience planning and executing large-scale developer conferences, technical conferences, or community events for engineering audiences, including events with 2,000+ attendees.
- Deep understanding of developer communities, developer relations programs, technical content, and developer engagement strategies.
- Proven experience partnering with Developer Relations, Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, and technical leadership teams to build compelling conference programs and developer-focused event experiences.
- Experience shaping keynote programs, technical demos, workshop experiences, technical content tracks, and overall conference content strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging event experiences that resonate with developers, architects, and engineering leaders.
- Hands-on experience directly owning and executing conference workstreams such as speaker management, CFP programs, technical content operations, sponsor fulfillment, attendee communications, event websites, registration programs, ticketing, and workshop execution.
- Strong project and program management skills with experience leading multiple stakeholders, workstreams, timelines, budgets, and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across executive, technical, and go-to-market teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and operationally rigorous, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- International conference experience is a plus.
- Location: San Francisco preferred. Open to remote candidates who are willing to travel to the West Coast and internationally as needed.
- Travel: Approximately 20-30% travel (domestic & international travel to support global event needs as required) for candidates located in San Francisco. Remote candidates should expect a higher travel commitment (approximately 30–40%).
