Responsibilities

As a Pricing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our sales and operations teams by preparing accurate and competitive pricing solutions for customers across North America.

  • Prepare accurate customer quotations for truckload, specialized, heavy haul, ocean container, and project freight.
  • Analyze customer requirements and determine the most efficient transportation solution.
  • Build pricing using current market conditions, carrier costs, fuel, permits, escorts, accessorial charges, and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Sales, and Business Development to ensure pricing aligns with operational capabilities.
  • Review customer tenders and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Maintain pricing databases and customer rate agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to ensure competitive rate strategies.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders regarding pricing requests and service solutions.
  • Assist with strategic pricing initiatives to improve profitability and customer retention.
  • Ensure quotations are completed accurately and within customer timelines.

Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will be self-motivated, results driven and a team player. In addition, you will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of transportation pricing, logistics, dispatch, or operations experience.
  • Previous experience pricing truckload, specialized transportation, heavy haul, or ocean container freight.
  • Strong understanding of transportation operations and freight costing.
  • Experience preparing quotations for project freight and specialized moves is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations and industry practices.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with TMW is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
