Senior Cashier

The Senior Cashier is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and secure cash management services across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Shared Finance Services, the role ensures effective processing, reconciliation, and control of all income and banking activities, supporting strong financial governance and excellent customer service. The Senior Cashier acts as the operational lead for cash handling processes and provides guidance to colleagues involved in income collection.

This is a part time role working 3 days per week - 22.5 hours

The position is hybrid working onsite in Oxford 1 or 2 days per week

We are able to offer some flexibility on these timings for the successful candidate if required.

Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients. Conveniently located in a business park setting on the outskirts of Oxford, close to junction 8a of the M40, there is ample free parking for staff and patients around the building.

  Oversee daily processing of all income streams, including cash, online payments, and bank transfers, ensuring accurate recording and allocation.

  Process patient refunds promptly and in line with Standard Operating Procedures.

  Manage secure cash handling, including cashing-up, banking preparation, and safe custody.

  Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies efficiently.

  Maintain strong financial controls, audit trails, and compliance with policies and regulatory standards.

  Support cashflow monitoring, short-term forecasting, and daily treasury activities.

  Monitor bank balances, process transfers, reconcile intercompany payments, and handle banking queries.

  Maintain data accuracy in finance systems and support system improvements or new implementations.

  Deliver professional support to internal and external stakeholders, resolving income-related queries effectively.

  Collaborate across finance teams, provide cross-cover where needed, and contribute to continuous improvement.
