We are partnering with a well established and growing organization in the construction sector to identify a highly skilled HR/Payroll Administrator


This will be a key role supporting both payroll operations and HR compliance initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has a strong understanding of payroll processes within construction or field-based industries.


The HR/Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 150 employees, while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations, including Alabama state laws. This individual will also play a critical role in supporting HR-related functions and maintaining internal compliance standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in a high-volume environment
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (Alabama), and local payroll regulations
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reporting, and audits
  • Partner with leadership on HR compliance, employee relations, and policy adherence
  • Support onboarding processes and employee documentation
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with ACA and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist with job costing, labor allocation, and payroll reporting tied to project work
  • Handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or HR
  • Construction industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and payroll regulations
  • Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees
  • Familiarity with Alabama employment laws required
  • Experience with internal payroll systems (non-outsourced environments preferred)
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to manage sensitive information
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Experience in environments with job costing or project-based accounting
