JOB PURPOSE

  • Group Assistant Manager - Compliance– Southeast Asia will serve as a dedicated, independent, full-time business partner for DP World’s growing Southeast Asia business, reporting directly to the APAC Group Compliance Head.

  • The individual will enable our Southeast Asia business to create end-to-end supply chain solutions by providing proactive, fit-for-purpose, risk management solutions pertaining anti-bribery and corruption, privacy and data protection, economic and trade sanctions and anti-trust matters, and coordinating the localization and implementation of our Group Compliance Program across Southeast Asia.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Act as a trusted, strategic business partner by developing a strong understanding of DP World’s business operations and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Provide proactive, practical and effective guidance on compliance risks across Southeast Asia, as well as those that may impact the larger organization.

  • Coordinate the effective communication, localization and implementation of Group Compliance policies, procedures and other measures across Southeast Asia, while identifying potential opportunities to further enhance our ability to detect and prevent potential compliance risks.

  • Develop and coordinate impactful, relevant training and awareness activities to enhance employees’ ability to apply DP World’s Group Compliance Program to their day-to-day activities and prevent compliance risks.

  • Facilitate third party management measures for high-risk relationships and/or transactions as dictated by internal policies, including due diligence, execution of relevant agreements and monitoring activities.

  • Analyse potential sanctions and export control risks and formalize findings and recommendations in consultation with APAC Group Compliance Head and/or Group Compliance Sanctions Head.

  • Support Southeast Asia’s compliance with relevant data privacy regulations, including providing guidance on regulatory filings, execution of data protection agreements or equivalent, privacy impact assessments, processing of data subject rights, etc.

  • Execute periodic compliance risk assessments, audit and monitoring activities and oversee development and implementation of appropriate, prioritized continuous improvement plans to mitigate risk.

  • Collaborate with various members of the Group Compliance team to enhance and develop various aspects of the Group Compliance Program.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the APAC Group Compliance Head.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level preferred in relevant areas of study (e.g. business administration, finance, law or a related field). JD, LLM, or equivalent legal degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a compliance manager or officer in a multinational organisation.

  • Expertise in the relevant regional and global privacy and data protection legislation, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-trust / Competition laws, and Economic Sanctions.

  • Experience in change management and driving adoption of new tools, processes, and decision support.

  • Certified compliance professional is a plus.

SKILLS

  • Highly ethical, principled and diligent with excellent planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional, regional and/or global teams.

  • Understanding and demonstrated ability to apply industry best practices, concepts, and standards.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, to work independently and manage discrete areas of responsibility with little direct supervision.

  • Strong ability to champion a comprehensive compliance program, including ethics elements.

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • Fluency in Thai or Bahasa mandatory. Fluency in English mandatory.
