MCV Assistant Project Manager
Quick Summary
Operational Planning & Execution
• Supervise and support end‑to‑end project operations, including loadout, securing, transportation, and discharge of cargo.
• Coordinate with masters, chief officers, and the marine operations team to ensure the vessel is fully prepared for upcoming projects.
• Review and validate project documentation such as stowage plans, stability calculations, sea-fastening drawings, towage arrangements, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, marine standards, and class/flag requirements relevant to deck carrier operations.
Stakeholder Coordination • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
• Attend project meetings, technical reviews, and on-site operations as required.
• Manage expectations by providing clear project updates, timelines, and operational constraints.
Technical & Commercial Analysis • Conduct feasibility studies, route assessments, and port capability evaluations.
• Review technical drawings and documentation from logistics providers and carriers
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Ensure all operations adhere to company HSE policies and international maritime safety standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, and project readiness checks before critical operations.
• Lead and document incident/near‑miss reporting and participate in safety investigations.
Documentation & Compliance • Prepare project execution reports, progress updates, daily logs, and completion summaries.
• Monitor project schedules, identify risks or delays, and propose mitigation measures.
• Track project costs and contribute to budget planning and cost‑control activities.
Operational Optimization
• Support continual improvement by identifying operational bottlenecks and proposing process enhancements.
• Coordinate with commercial and technical teams on lessons learned and improvements for future projects.
Job Profile (Internal)
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in marine operations, transport & installation, or heavy lift/deck carrier projects..
• Strong understanding of vessel operations, stability, seafastening, and heavy cargo handling.
• Hands‑on experience with offshore logistics, port operations, or project supervision.
Job-Specific Skills:
• Strong understanding of project logistics, chartering, and shipping operations.
• Strong knowledge of BIMCO clauses, chartering practices, and international marine standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical, communication, decision-making, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multimodal transport chains and complex project environments
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Excellent English language skills, with additional languages preferable
• Self-motivated, driven and with attention to detail
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally for port calls, loadouts, and project operations.
