Trusted by each sector, we are ideally positioned to convene, inspire, and create meaningful experiences for all.  Come join us on our mission to inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone and living our vision for a world where science belongs to each of us for the good of all of us.

The Museum of Science is seeking an experienced event professional to serve as the onsite operational leader for our corporate, nonprofit, social, and institutional events. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently lead complex events with minimal supervision.

  • Drive Event-Day Leadership and Decision Making: Act as the primary operational authority during assigned events, proactively resolving issues, directing staff and vendors, and making informed decisions that balance guest experience, safety, operational requirements, and Museum priorities.
  • Strengthen Operational Efficiency: Optimize staffing resources, vendor coordination, and event workflows to improve labor efficiency, reduce unnecessary overtime, and support successful event outcomes with minimal management intervention.
  • Protect the Museum's Brand and Reputation: Represent the Museum with professionalism and confidence while ensuring all events align with operational standards, safety expectations, and hospitality best practices.
  • Customer Focus: Anticipates and responds to client, guest, and stakeholder needs while delivering exceptional service and maintaining a positive event experience.
  • Decision Quality: Makes sound, timely decisions during fast-paced event operations, balancing guest experience, operational requirements, safety considerations, and organizational priorities.
  • Managing Complexity: Effectively navigates multiple priorities, changing circumstances, and operational challenges while maintaining focus on successful event execution.
  • Plans and Aligns: Coordinates resources, staffing, vendors, and operational logistics to ensure events are executed efficiently and according to established timelines and expectations.
  • Drives Results: Takes ownership of event outcomes, proactively addresses obstacles, and consistently delivers high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborates: Builds strong working relationships across departments and with external partners to achieve shared goals and ensure seamless event execution.
  • Directs Work: Provides clear direction, establishes priorities, and ensures staff and vendors understand expectations and deliver results.

  • Resourcefulness: Identifies practical solutions and takes initiative to resolve operational challenges independently.
  • Balances Stakeholders: Considers the needs of clients, guests, internal departments, vendors, and the Museum when making operational decisions.

Mission-Focused: We inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone.
