As an Apprentice, you will join AHEAD’s Intelligent Operations (IO) Professional Services practice through a structured ramp-up program designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals (0–1 year of experience).
You will spend your first weeks in guided enablement; learning the ServiceNow platform, AHEAD’s delivery standards, and the JavaScript skills that power the work; before contributing to live client engagements alongside senior consultants. Expect daily mentorship, code reviews that teach, and a clear progression plan toward becoming a fully certified ServiceNow Technical Consultant.
This is a hands-on, learn-by-building role. You will not be expected to know everything on day one; you will be expected to be curious, coachable, and committed to mastering the craft.
- Complete a structured onboarding curriculum covering ServiceNow fundamentals, AHEAD delivery methodology, and Agile ways of working
- Build out your own ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance (PDI) as a learning sandbox and portfolio
- Work toward your ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification with company-sponsored training time and resources
- Contribute to Real Client Work, with Guidance
- Pair with senior consultants on live engagements; shadowing first, then taking ownership of small, well-scoped configuration and scripting tasks
- Configure ServiceNow modules (Forms, Lists, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer) under the direction of your mentor
- Write clean, well-documented JavaScript for Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts following AHEAD’s coding standards
- Help build and unit-test catalog items, record producers, notifications, and basic Service Portal widgets
- Participate in the Delivery Lifecycle
- Attend Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos) and learn how technical work is scoped, estimated, and delivered
- Take detailed notes during requirements sessions and translate them into clear technical task descriptions with your lead’s review
- Support testing cycles; writing test cases, executing UAT scenarios, logging defects, and assisting with fixes
- Build Strong Engineering Habits
- Apply structured troubleshooting: reproduce, isolate, hypothesise, test, document
- Use version control discipline (Update Sets / Source Control) and follow peer-review practices on every change
- Maintain clear documentation for everything you build so the next person; including future-you can read it easily
- Grow as a Consultant
- Present your work in internal demos and knowledge-sharing sessions to build confidence and communication skills
- Seek and act on feedback in 1:1s with your mentor and people leader
- Contribute to the early-career community, share what you learn, ask good questions, and help peers grow with you
We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about technology, enjoys solving puzzles, and writes code because they like figuring out how things work, not just because it was on the syllabus.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree (completed or in the final year) in Engineering, or a related Graduate degree. Strong academic projects, internships, or self-built side projects all count as meaningful experience.
- Problem-Solving Aptitude (Must Have): Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and a structured approach to troubleshooting. You can break a vague problem into smaller pieces, form a hypothesis, test it, and explain your reasoning out loud.
- JavaScript Proficiency (Must Have): Foundational to intermediate JavaScript skills, including:
-
- Variables, data types, control flow, and functions (including arrow functions and callbacks)
- Working with objects and arrays (map, filter, reduce, destructuring)
- Basic DOM manipulation and event handling
- Asynchronous concepts (callbacks, Promises, async/await at a conceptual level)
- Comfort using browser developer tools and console.log for debugging
- Communication: Ability to explain your thinking in clear, simple English (written and spoken). You ask questions when stuck rather than going silent.
- Coachability and Ownership: You take feedback well, follow through on commitments, and treat every piece of work; however small; as something worth doing properly.
- Collaboration Mindset: Comfortable working in a team, willing to help others, and respectful of diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
These will give your application an edge but are not required:
If you are at the start of your career, you love solving problems with code, and you want to build deep expertise on one of the world’s most in-demand enterprise platforms, we would love to hear from you.
