Thuma is looking for a Lead Barista to join our new Cherry Creek team. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of Thuma at Cherry Creek.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Barista to be the heart and soul of our cafe experience. As our Lead Thuma Barista, you'll be an integral part of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, serving exceptional coffee, and providing top-notch customer service and upholding standards within the cafe team.
Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time.
Manage cafe inventory, assist in placing orders, and monitoring stock levels in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Ensure compliance of local health regulations are closely followed.
Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Mentor baristas, providing guidance and training.
Ensure exceptional coffee quality through proper brewing techniques and recipe adherence.
Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly.
Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency and performance.
Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service.
Have great communication between cafe and retail teams to ensure the cafe is covered and all customers are being assisted in a timely manner.
Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions.
Previous experience as a Lead Barista or similar role in a cafe.
This job requires the ability to work in-person at the Thuma Cafe in Cherry Creek.
This job requires availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
You’re a people person and like interacting with others.
Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and latte art.
Possess a Denver Food Safety Manager card or be willing to obtain one.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Capacity to lift and move medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using proper equipment and safety techniques.
