We are looking for a Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in Risk Adjustment coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for supporting accurate and complete clinical documentation, identifying coding opportunities, and ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards.
Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records to validate the accuracy and completeness of ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding, CPT procedure coding, and supporting clinical documentation.
Identify documentation gaps and risk adjustment coding opportunities to support accurate capture of patient complexity and disease burden.
Provide timely feedback to providers on documentation gaps and coding opportunities identified through chart reviews.
Educate providers on documentation best practices and risk adjustment requirements.
Identify and communicate documentation trends to support ongoing improvement.
Maintain compliance with applicable coding, documentation, and risk adjustment guidelines.
Stay current on regulatory and industry changes affecting coding and documentation practices.
Support coding quality reviews and audit activities as needed.

Within your first three months, you will:
Become proficient in our coding, risk adjustment, and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) workflows.
Independently conduct prospective chart reviews and identify documentation gaps and coding opportunities.
Provide CDI feedback to providers and support documentation improvement efforts.
Apply coding and documentation guidelines accurately and consistently in daily work.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position. The pay rate for this role is $41.50/hour. To perform this role, you must be located within the lower 48 United States due to contractual limitations with accessing PHI.
