The main role of the procurement specialist is to locate key suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements with third party vendors for quality products at strategic pricing.  Work with pharmacy managers to manage inventory par levels to ensure the company needs are met. Maintain communication with all necessary parties to ensure accounts are in good standing and resolve any purchasing issues.

·        Negotiate purchase agreements with third party vendors for quality products and strategic pricing

·        Manage the inventory systems of the Pharmacy Division - purchasing, ordering, recalls, and returns.

·        Reviews performance of each inventory, identifies, and resolves inventory and/or system problems;

·        Collaborates with Pharmacy Operations Manager to establish inventory management procedures; strategically outsources purchasing with third party vendors

·        Reviews ongoing operations of the system to facilitate recommendations for changes to improve procedures;

·        Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

·        Plans, organizes and executes physical inventory counts

·        Invoice reconciliation with accounting department and vendors; ensure our accounts are in good standing and resolve any issues

·        Communicate with RX admin personnel, RX store personnel, other admin personnel, wholesalers, third party payors and manufacturer representatives

·        Initiate and vet conversations with new potential vendors

·        Pharmacy audits (i.e. controlled inventory audits)

·        Manage incoming deliveries by verifying or signing for shipments; unloading and proper storage including cold chain management and communication to necessary parties

  • Inventory management, principles, and practices
  • Computerized inventory record keeping systems
  • Computer logic and support programs. (ie. Excel)
  • Common business practices relating to the purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, credits, and payment for commodities and services.
