As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to support after-school classes for K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

As an after school classroom assistant, you'll have the following responsibilities:

Support the lead instructor in delivering age-appropriate after-school programming

Help set up and break down the classroom before and after each class

Help maintain a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged

Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels

Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment

Track attendance and student growth, and offer positive, helpful feedback

Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to assist

Create a memorable experience for the children in your class

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable classroom assistant, with experience working with school age children, and who:

Has experience supporting instructors in a classroom or after-school setting

Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids

Has excitement, joy, and passion for both working with kids and personal development/learning

Knows how to help create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you support

Is cooperative, supportive, flexible

Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations
