Senior Solicitor or Associate

Hamilton or Auckland | 3–5 PQE

The Role

We’re looking for Civil Litigation lawyers to join our high-performing Civil Litigation team in either Hamilton or Auckland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing litigator to build on their experience while working closely with Partners and Special Counsel on a broad range of civil and commercial disputes. While experience in construction or competition litigation would be an advantage, we are equally interested in strong general civil or commercial litigators who are keen to continue developing their skills within a collaborative and nationally recognised firm.

Our Civil team works on high-profile matters across New Zealand and provides strategic advice on important issues for public and private clients. You’ll be supported by experienced senior lawyers, with opportunities to develop your skills and take on increasing responsibility for matters as your experience grows.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years’ PQE in civil or commercial litigation
• Strong communication and drafting skills, with developing advocacy experience
• Good judgement and a willingness to continue building commercial awareness
• Experience supporting or managing aspects of litigation matters
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from senior lawyers
• Construction or competition litigation experience (advantageous)

What You’ll Do

• Support and assist in progressing civil and commercial litigation matters
• Draft pleadings, affidavits and submissions with appropriate guidance
• Appear in Court (commensurate with experience)
• Assist in providing advice across a range of dispute types
• Work closely with Partners and Special Counsel on complex matters
• Collaborate with teams across the firm on contentious issues
• Support client relationships and contribute to team initiatives

As your experience grows, you’ll take on increasing responsibility for managing matters and client work.
