Coordinator, RBI & Youth Baseball

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Programs, this full-time position is accountable for assisting in the growth of Jays Care’s refreshed RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program and supporting additional youth baseball programming. This role will play an important role in the execution of the 2027+ RBI strategy intended to improve consideration and create a pipeline for baseball athletes in key target areas of Toronto and across Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the development and refinement of the new RBI program’s overall design and structure, focusing on skill development, practice plans, and game play options
- Travel to RBI schools and fields to support programming and demonstrate best-in-class programming
- Evaluate players and contribute to roster building of RBI regional teams and support regional team
- Coach the Blue Jays Jr RBI and RBI regional teams
- Support youth baseball events as needed including on-site event support at baseball clinics
- Support with training and facilitation of RBI coaches including professional development
- Assist with administration and coordinate logistics for RBI programming such as, registration, League Apps, recruitment and payroll, and procurement
- Coordinating schedules with RBI coaches and Academy instructors supporting RBI program
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative culture across internal departments
- Manage equipment inventory and prepare all shirts, hats, and gear for clinics and events
- Perform other duties as assigned within the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous baseball or softball experience as a player or coach at an elite level
- Demonstrated ability to throw batting practice and hit fungos
- Excellent organizational and ability to manage multiple tasks while working collaboratively as a member of the team
- Enrollment in post-secondary education preferred in sport management, business, marketing, or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Toronto Blue Jays and Blue Jays Baseball Academy programs
- Previous experience with coordinating events and programs an asset
- Technical competence with MS Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant applications
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and travel within Canada in support of Blue Jays Baseball Academy events
- Valid G Class drivers’ license in good standing
- Experience working with children and youth who face significant barriers to accessing sport and recreation opportunities
- Willing to obtain first aid certification prior to the start of the work contract
- Ability to lift 50lbs
Salary: The anticipated base compensation range for this role is $50,000 - $55,000. Actual base pay offered within this range may differ based on a range of factors, including individual experience, education, skills, and organizational needs.

Position Status: Vacancy - please be advised this position is required to be in office at Rogers Centre five days a week.
