The Manufacturing Engineer supports ICS’ business objectives by driving manufacturing process development, production optimization, and documentation control to improve operational efficiency, product quality, and profitability. This role is responsible for translating customer requirements and engineering drawings into manufacturable solutions, including bills of materials (BOMs), labor standards, routing/traveler documentation, tooling requirements, and process instructions.
The Manufacturing Engineer conducts manufacturability reviews, identifies and mitigates risks in customer documentation, and leads resolution of drawing discrepancies in collaboration with engineering and quality teams. This role supports tooling strategy and procurement, pre-production planning, manufacturing process development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production capability, quality, and throughput.
In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer evaluates non-conformance reports, performs root cause analysis, supports corrective and preventive actions, and develops rework instructions when required. The role contributes to training on new products, tooling, and processes while maintaining revision control of engineering documentation and supplier datasheets. With strong experience in cable and harness assembly environments, the ideal candidate brings a combination of hands-on manufacturing knowledge and engineering expertise to support ICS’ operational excellence and continuous improvement goals.
Requirements
~1 min read- Review, process, and implement customer Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and initiate internal Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Maintain revision control and configuration management for engineering drawings, BOMs, travelers, work instructions, and related manufacturing documentation
• Develop and maintain manufacturing travelers and process documentation to support production operations
• Maintain supplier technical documentation, specifications, and assembly instructions
• Process ECRs, ECOs, and Stop Work Orders in accordance with company procedures
• Continuously improve document control and engineering change management processes

Compensation: $35 - 45 / hour
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field required; equivalent experience may be considered
• Technical training or certifications related to manufacturing, process improvement, or engineering preferred
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a related engineering role within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with cable and harness assembly processes preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles, engineering documentation, process optimization, and production workflows
• Knowledge of cable and harness assembly processes, manufacturing methods, and design-for-manufacturability principles
• Working knowledge of engineering change management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Manufacturing process development and optimization
• BOM development and product configuration management
• Engineering change management (ECR/ECO)
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Manufacturing equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Tooling selection, validation, and process improvement
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Technical documentation development and revision control
• Attention to detail and accuracy
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Provide technical assistance and engineering support to Sales, Customers, Production, and Quality teams
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions, process documentation, and technical training materials
• Support production on customer-priority and expedited projects as required
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and yield improvement initiatives
• Maintain professionalism in all internal and external relationships
Other responsibilities, initiatives, and ad-hoc projects as required.
