Drafter I will support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas. As a Drafter I, assist in providing classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites. Support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, hardware integration, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.
- Participate in the planning, and design of technical schematics, illustrations, and diagram artifacts (both internal and Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) based; templates and content).
- Prepare, modify, and maintain plans, designs, drawings, and schematics for components and systems.
- Work from sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) systems such as AutoCAD and Visio to prepare layouts and drawings.
- Proficiency with various Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Work with engineers in specific disciplines, which may require some knowledge of that discipline.
- Produce comprehensive, quality drawings or technical documentation in accordance with ASME Y14.100-2017.
- Perform individual and team quality checks on drawings or technical documentation.
- Attend and Participate in Periodic Large Scale Agile Planning events.
- Support standard Agile ritual meetings as necessary and assist Scrum teams in execution of Program Increments and Iterations.
- May perform site surveys and incorporate them into CAD files.
- Assist in the creation and maintaining of Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
Requirements
~2 min read- Certification of 2 years training from a vocational training school, or 2 years of college with courses relevant to drafting or engineering principles preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience within drafting or engineering principles
- Experience using CAD systems in production and delivery of Technical Manuals, illustrations, and diagram artifacts IAW DoD/DID standards.
- Experience assisting with configuration management by writing and maintaining Engineering Change Notices and the Initial Releases of drawings using a PLM/PDM system.
- Experience in Control and Configuration Board (CCB) meetings for final review and release of operational and development drawings to a technical baseline.
- Secret clearance required
