OtherOf Staff

This is not an administrative support role. The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a hands-on strategic and operational partner to the CEO — someone who can turn a priority into a finished outcome without needing a team to do it through. Most of your time will go to owning a small number of high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives — strategic partnerships, consumer business development, and cross-organizational process and ownership mapping — while also acting as a strategic sounding board for the CEO on company priorities and goal-tracking.

The mandate is deliberately end-to-end: projects come directly from the CEO, and you're expected to run with them — deciding where to act independently, where to recommend a course of action, and where your role is simply to facilitate a decision owned by someone else. Strategic thinking is what we're hiring for first; you'll also cover business-as-usual work in the gaps until the project pipeline is fully built out.

The role is 12 month fixed term contract maternity cover.

Responsibilities

~1 min read

You'll sit at the center of the business, with direct exposure to the CEO, the leadership team, and the company's most important strategic bets. It's a high-autonomy, high-visibility role for someone who wants outsized scope early and is motivated by outcomes rather than title.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the CEO's top strategic priorities — turning intent into concrete plans, decisions, and follow-through across strategic partnerships, consumer business development, and cross-functional process/ownership mapping.
  • Personally drive 2–3 flagship cross-functional initiatives at a time as the named owner — not by delegating to a team, but by doing the work yourself and pulling in the right people as needed.
  • Represent the CEO and company directly with select external partners, including scoping and sourcing new partnership and business development opportunities — bringing enough financial and remittance fluency to hold your own in those conversations.
  • Act as a trusted extension of the CEO — representing their thinking and priorities accurately, and increasingly operating and communicating independently on their behalf.
  • A true generalist who learns fast and moves quickly, with a finance or analytics background strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on operating or execution experience — you've personally led and delivered projects and initiatives, not only managed teams that deliver them.
  • Solid grounding in finance and, ideally, remittance/fintech fundamentals — sector expertise matters more here than in a typical CoS role, since you'll engage directly on financial and commercial detail.
  • A track record beyond a straight MBA-to-consulting path: real experience owning and running initiatives end to end is essential.
  • High comfort with ambiguity and autonomy — you can take a loosely defined priority from the CEO and structure it yourself, without much hand-holding.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, with the credibility to engage external partners and, over time, board and investor conversations.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools like Claude in your daily workflow to accelerate problem-solving, draft or analyze complex content, and streamline repetitive tasks with high judgment and minimal supervision.
