  Major Responsibilities:  Provides general labour support for a range of construction and restoration services projects by performing duties such as installing fencing, signage, plant materials, and erosion control products/structures Assists with providing guidance and training to junior staff on the day-to-day duties to ensure work is completed in a safe and efficient manner  Performs checker/flagger and traffic control duties at various sites throughout TRCA’s jurisdiction Assists with site layout and drawing interpretation including laser level set up and operation Assists with the installation of various in-water works including but not limited to vegetative buttresses, pool-riffle sequences, bio-engineering techniques  Assists with the installation of engineered structures including but not limited to armour stone walls, vegetative rip rap buttress, mechanically stabilized earth walls Assists in the construction of trails, ditches, parking lots and various other construction projects Assists with the implementation of Habitat Restoration projects including natural shoreline enhancement, natural channel treatments and wetland restoration. Participates in daily safety meetings including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and emergency planning Provides mentorship to junior staff on the above-mentioned tasks, duties and others as assigned through thorough knowledge and experience in the field   What will you need to succeed: Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses) Completion of college diploma in Construction or a related field or equivalent experience Valid Class G2 driver’s license Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification   Experience 1+ years of experience related to major responsibilities   Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply engineering or landscape architectural plans, drawings, details and specifications Understanding and application of basic mathematical functions Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member to coach staff and work with stakeholders (internally and externally); ability to deal tactfully and courteously with stakeholders, public officials Proficiency in MS Office for general office communications (I.e., mail, spreadsheet and word processing software, including online enablement software such as MS teams and SharePoint)   What TRCA has to offer you: As part of a progressive team you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact to preserving and protecting nature, while maintaining a balance between the natural environment and built environment.
