Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, supporting our team with financial planning, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records and general ledger accounts, including preparing journal entries.
  • Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by providing data analysis and interpretation.
  • Help prepare documentation for external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies, recommending solutions for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and address finance-related inquiries.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience as an entry level accountant.  
  • Transportation experience a plus but not required.
