About Us:
Trimble is a global technology company that connects the physical and digital worlds, transforming the ways work gets done. With relentless innovation in precise positioning, modeling and data analytics, Trimble enables essential industries including construction, geospatial and transportation. Whether it's helping customers build and maintain infrastructure, design and construct buildings, optimize global supply chains or map the world, Trimble is at the forefront, driving productivity and progress.
Trimble’s Forestry Division offers SaaS and enterprise software to improve the productivity and sustainability of the world’s most recognized integrated forest product companies, forest managers, conservation organizations, government departments, finished product manufacturers, and the partners that connect the global forest supply chain.
What Makes This Role Great:
Working in the Transport Planning team, you’ll work with Trimble’s specialist logistics software, which allows us to support our Forestry customers with managing their log haulage, moving it from point A to point B via the onboard Android app.
As the Transport Planner, you’ll provide the back office support via real-time application updates where you’ll track the drivers' movements, provide destination and route plans, and closely monitor the movement of each of the trucks.
Key Exciting Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and schedule harvesting contractors and logging trucks dynamically to optimise daily load uplifts and fleet utilisation.
* Execute and monitor complex wood flow plans using specialised logistics software to guarantee successful commercial outcomes for clients.
* Solve immediate operational bottlenecks on the ground, negotiating directly with suppliers and customers in the field when issues arise.
* Track, analyse, and report on critical production, inventory, and delivery targets to maintain supply chain transparency.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 0 to 2 years of professional experience; if you’ve worked in retail, hospitality, or a call centre while studying, this could be a great fit for you
* Great communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and negotiate with suppliers, customers, and contractors.
* Strong multi-tasker with good problem-solving skills.
* Ability to learn new software following a period of training.
* Flexible approach to working in a changing environment.
Bonus Points For:
* Tertiary level qualification such as a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Logistics, or Business is helpful but not essential.
