Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel guidance platform, helping hundreds of millions of travelers every month plan, book, and enjoy their trips with confidence. As the ultimate travel companion, we create experiences that are simple, inspiring, and deeply human - turning every journey into something unforgettable.
The Traveler Experience Team
We design how travelers discover, choose, and book things to do across Tripadvisor and Viator’s web and app platforms. From early exploration to post-booking reassurance, our team shapes the end-to-end experience that helps millions of travelers feel confident and inspired to book the perfect experience.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our B2C Experience team - a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll own design direction across high-impact user journeys, accelerate experimentation velocity, and raise the quality of design craft and decision-making across your area.
Job Location: Remote
This role is a remote position in the UK, Poland or Portugal. Occasional travel to company offices as necessary.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead end-to-end product design across responsive web, iOS, and Android - from framing problems, to prototyping, to shipping pixel-perfect experiences. You will primarily own a key part of the traveler journey across Viator and Tripadvisor, collaborating with designers on adjacent surfaces to ensure a coherent, multi-platform experience
- →Partner closely with PMs, engineers, and researchers to shape strategy, define hypotheses, and run experiments that improve both traveler value and business impact.
- →Translate insights into scalable, data-informed design decisions, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.
- →Drive measurable improvements in design health - reducing UX debt, simplifying key flows, and ensuring consistency across products through design system contributions.
- →Champion evidence-based design and experimentation practices, aligning design decisions with clear metrics, OKRs, and business levers such as conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value.
- →Incorporate AI-assisted workflows (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate ideation, research synthesis, and rapid prototyping, using AI responsibly to enhance decision quality, not replace it.
- →Collaborate with cross-functional peers to define high-quality standards for user experience, balancing execution speed with design excellence.
- →Advocate for craftsmanship - ensuring every detail, motion, and interaction aligns with our brand vision and creates genuine traveler delight.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
- Proven ability to operate effectively with a global-first mindset
- 5+ years of experience designing impactful digital products across mobile and web platforms in consumer-facing environments.
- Strong visual craft combined with strategic product thinking - able to simplify complexity and create clarity in ambiguous spaces.
- Deep comfort working in an A/B testing environment - fluent in forming hypotheses, interpreting quantitative and qualitative data, and iterating based on experiment results.
- A portfolio that demonstrates problem-solving depth: how you identified user needs, balanced business goals, and measured success through outcomes.
- Experience designing within or contributing to design systems at scale, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and brand alignment.
- Proven collaboration skills - able to influence decisions across product, engineering, and research while advocating for design impact.
- Applied AI literacy - curiosity and pragmatism in using AI tools for research synthesis, prototyping, and workflow optimization, with a focus on real user and business value.
- Clear, structured communication: ability to articulate design rationale, trade-offs, and learnings to stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Familiarity with e‑commerce marketplaces or large-scale experimentation cultures is a strong plus.
- Bonus: Experience in travel or other global consumer marketplaces.
- You own design strategy, experiment velocity, and design health within your area - balancing rapid iteration with long-term design quality.
- You help define which user problems matter most and shape measurable experiments that improve both customer outcomes and key business metrics like conversion and retention.
- You partner with product and data peers to define the metrics and signals that will be used to evaluate your designs, and you use those insights to guide iteration.
- Your work raises the bar for clarity, usability, and delight - improving traveler confidence and the performance of core booking and discovery journeys.
- You make evidence-based design a habit across your teams, showing how design decisions drive measurable impact and sharing learnings openly, regardless of outcome.
We’re a small, high-impact design team that values curiosity, collaboration, and shared learning as much as craft. We care about impact, not ego - we test our assumptions, learn from the data, and work together to build experiences that travelers genuinely love.
