This role is in the growing Global Tax team which is part of the Group Finance team at Trustly, the team is a dynamic and cross jurisdictional team, which has an ethos of collaboration and continued improvement at its heart.
About the Role
~1 min readWe are looking for a Tax Manager to support the delivery of our global tax compliance and reporting obligations and support the Global Tax Team and business. The role reports into our Global Tax Senior Manager.
We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in tax compliance - ideally gained in a specialist role with broad responsibilities. You bring experience from a Big 4 firm or equivalent and are confident in independently driving tax compliance in an international context. Previous in-house experience is considered a strong advantage.

Manage Trustly’s global tax compliance process to ensure that Trustly always reports and pays the correct amount of tax globally. Including:

Reviewing corporate tax computations and returns
- →
Review of VAT returns and EC sales lists
- →
Tax compliance calendar tracking and management
- →
Manage quarterly and year-end compliance timelines/tasks
- →
Assisting with the preparation of transfer pricing calculations

Act as the main point of contact for Trustly’s global tax outsource provider. Including ensuring the provider has accurate and timely data and performing first review

Act as a touchpoint between wider Finance and Tax for data collection

Assisting the tax team with key projects

Assist with audits and inquiries from tax authorities

Identify and implement digital solutions to enhance efficiency and streamline tax compliance and other tax processes.

Assisting with other key tax reporting requirements (e.g. DAC 6 and CESOP) and compliance related tasks related to being a regulated entity and financial institution (e.g. FATCA and CRS returns)

Assist with monitoring tax legislative changes and assess potential impact to the business

Significant experience in managing tax compliance

Experience across direct and indirect tax compliance is considered a strong advantage (especially EU experience). However, we are looking for someone who is flexible, eager to learn and develop across all aspects of tax globally and enjoy learning new things

Previous inhouse experience is a strong advantage (ideally with FinTech and/or financial services experience)

A qualified tax professional (e.g. ACA, CTA in the UK or equivalent) with strong technical expertise

Tax accounting experience is a strong advantage

Confident partnering with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business

Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Strong ability to manage workload, multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively

Advance Excel skills. Experience with Netsuite is a strong plus

Experienced in managing external advisors and building positive relationships with tax authorities

Enthusiastic about building, scaling and automating within a growing business

Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
