The Third Shift Field Supervisor oversees overnight security operations, ensuring client satisfaction, operational excellence, and consistent service delivery across assigned accounts. This role serves as the primary leader for overnight field operations and requires strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The Field Supervisor ensures security officers perform their duties in compliance with company policies, client expectations, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accountability for staffing, performance, and operational readiness. A key responsibility is ensuring all scheduled, cold-start, and critical coverage positions are properly staffed throughout the shift by proactively addressing staffing challenges, coordinating coverage, and preventing service interruptions.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee overnight security operations and provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to security personnel.
- →Conduct scheduled and random site inspections, patrols, and operational reviews.
- →Ensure all posts are properly staffed, covered, and operating according to post orders.
- →Monitor staffing levels, schedules, and deployment plans to prevent coverage gaps.
- →Address call-offs, staffing shortages, and operational issues by coordinating coverage and escalating concerns as needed.
- →Respond to incidents, emergencies, and client concerns professionally and effectively.
- →Verify officer attendance, performance, patrol completion, and required reporting.
- →Complete and review incident reports, activity logs, staffing documentation, and operational records.
- →Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.
- →Assist with onboarding, training, and development of security personnel.
- →Maintain compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- →Communicate effectively with clients, management, dispatch, and field teams.
- →Utilize scheduling systems, reporting platforms, and security technology accurately.
- →Serve as a visible leadership presence and resource for overnight security teams.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active Wisconsin Private Security Person License required and must remain current.
- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing personnel.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and screening requirements.
- Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and patrols in various conditions.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and critical situations.
- Ability to travel between client locations as needed.
Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate situations, identify risks, and make effective decisions during incidents, emergencies, and staffing challenges.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate documentation, review reports, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities, staffing needs, client requests, and operational demands.
Accountability: Takes ownership of responsibilities while maintaining professionalism, reliability, integrity, and high service standards.
