The Personal Income Tax (PIT) Officer is responsible for managing all Personal Income Tax (PIT) administration activities to ensure full compliance with Vietnamese tax regulations. The role oversees end-to-end PIT processes, including tax registration, dependent registration, payroll tax validation, PIT declaration, tax payment, annual tax finalization, employee consultation and liaison with tax authorities.
The position works closely with the Compensation & Benefits (C&B), Payroll and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax withholding, reporting and statutory compliance.
The position is assigned to support the Sr. Compensation & Benefits (C&B) Officer to handle payroll, insurance when needed.

Administer all Personal Income Tax (PIT) activities in compliance with Vietnamese tax regulations.
Calculate, review and verify monthly PIT withholding for employees.
Ensure accurate calculation of taxable income, non-taxable income, taxable benefits and allowable deductions.
Review all payroll-related transactions affecting PIT, including salaries, bonuses, allowances, overtime, incentives, termination payments and other taxable benefits.
Ensure accurate and timely PIT calculation for every payroll cycle.
Register Personal Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) for new employees.
Process registration, amendment and deregistration of dependents.
Update employee tax information and maintain complete tax documentation.
Ensure tax registration activities are completed within statutory deadlines.
Maintain accurate employee tax records.
Work closely with the Sr. Compensation & Benefits (C&B) Officer to ensure accurate PIT calculation in payroll.
Coordinate with Payroll to validate employee income, taxable benefits and tax deductions.
Collaborate with the Accounting Department to reconcile payroll tax data and statutory tax reports.
Review payroll adjustments impacting PIT before salary payment.
Ensure accurate payroll tax withholding and reporting.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual Personal Income Tax declarations.
Prepare annual Personal Income Tax finalization for employees and the Company.
Calculate tax payable, tax refunds and tax adjustments arising from annual tax finalization.
Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliation reports and statutory documentation.
Ensure all tax declarations are submitted accurately and within statutory deadlines.
Prepare monthly and quarterly PIT payment requests.
Coordinate with the Accounting Department to ensure timely payment of PIT liabilities to tax authorities.
Monitor tax payment status and maintain payment records.
Reconcile declared tax amounts with tax payments.
Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese Personal Income Tax regulations and the Law on Tax Administration.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their impact on payroll and tax administration.
Liaise with tax authorities regarding PIT matters.
Prepare documents and supporting evidence for tax inspections and tax audits.
Respond to tax authority inquiries and resolve tax-related issues in a timely manner.
Provide professional consultation to employees regarding Personal Income Tax regulations.
Explain tax calculation methods, tax obligations and annual tax finalization procedures.
Support employees with dependent registration, tax authorization and tax-related documentation.
Resolve employee inquiries related to PIT accurately and professionally.
Review and improve PIT administration processes.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to minimize tax risks.
Conduct regular PIT data reviews to identify and correct potential issues before tax audits.
Develop and update PIT procedures and work instructions.
Support HR digitalization and payroll system improvement initiatives.
Maintain complete and accurate employee tax files.
Ensure confidentiality of employee tax information.
Prepare periodic management reports related to PIT.
Maintain statutory records in accordance with legal retention requirements.
Support internal and external audits related to payroll and Personal Income Tax.
Participate in HR, Payroll and Finance projects related to statutory compliance.
Perform other duties assigned by the Sr. C&B Officer or HRM Manager.
Requirements
~2 min read1. Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Personal Income Tax administration, Payroll or Compensation & Benefits.
2. Hands-on experience managing end-to-end Personal Income Tax processes.
3. Experience in multinational manufacturing companies is highly preferred.
4. Experience handling PIT for medium or large organizations is an advantage.
5. Experience working directly with tax authorities during tax inspections or audits is preferred.
6. Professional Knowledge
● Strong knowledge of:
◦ Vietnamese Personal Income Tax Law.
◦ Law on Tax Administration.
◦ Labor Code.
◦ Social Insurance regulations related to payroll.
● Good understanding of payroll and compensation processes.
● Experience with annual PIT finalization.
● Good knowledge of tax registration, dependent administration and statutory reporting.
7. Technical Skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and advanced formulas).
● Experience using payroll systems, HRIS or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday or equivalent) is an advantage.
● Experience using Vietnamese tax declaration systems and electronic tax portals.
8. Language
● Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
● Able to communicate effectively with foreign managers through meetings and email.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Human Resources, Business Administration or related disciplines.
● 40 - 48hours per week, rotational Saturdays off.
