About UJA Federation of Greater Toronto

At UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, our vision is to lead the most vibrant Jewish community in North America - a community characterized by its diversity, unity, compassion, generosity and commitment to Jewish values. Together with our philanthropic, volunteer and professional leadership, we’re changing lives.

As one of North America’s leading Jewish non-profits, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto works to preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Greater Toronto, Canada, Israel and around the world. UJA advances this mission through fundraising, programs, and research focused on our strategic pillars: fighting poverty and improving well-being, growing Jewish education and identity, countering antisemitism and hate, and strengthening connections with Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.

About the Opportunity

The team is looking to amplify and strengthen our fundraising strategy. As part of this initiative, we are hiring an Associate Director, Data Analytics & Prospecting to own UJA's donor intelligence ecosystem — driving the data strategy, prospecting vision, and analytical frameworks that equip leadership, frontline fundraisers and operational teams with the intelligence they need to deepen cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and campaign performance across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data, Analytics and Reporting, this role serves as the operational lead to the Senior Director within the function and acts as delegate to the Senior Director when needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Influence

  • Own and evolve UJA's end-to-end donor intelligence ecosystem, encompassing analytics strategy, prospect identification, data governance, and performance measurement.
  • Serve as a strategic operational lead alongside the Senior Director, driving the vision and roadmap for how data and prospecting power UJA's fundraising goals.
  • Act as delegate to the Senior Director in their absence, representing the function to senior leadership and ensuring continuity of strategic priorities.
  • Drive organization-wide decisions by translating donor intelligence into fundraising strategy — influencing campaign planning, gift officer deployment, portfolio design, and solicitation priorities.
  • Present insights, strategic recommendations, and performance reporting to executive leadership, and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Champion a data-driven culture across the Integrated Development division, shaping how teams think about and use donor intelligence in their work.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Impact

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two direct reports, fostering analytical excellence, professional growth, and high performance.
  • Spearhead cross-functional initiatives with Research, IT/Salesforce, Marketing, and frontline fundraising teams to embed analytics and prospecting insights into day-to-day operations.
  • Build and strengthen collaborative partnerships with senior fundraisers and division leaders, serving as a trusted advisor on donor strategy, capacity analysis, and prospect prioritization.
  • Establish and continuously improve standards, workflows, and best practices that scale the function's impact across the organization.

Donor Analytics & Performance Accountability

  • Design and own predictive models, donor scoring methodologies, and segmentation strategies that directly contribute to pipeline growth, major gift acquisition, and campaign performance targets.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and reporting that connect analytics outputs to fundraising outcomes — tracking prospect conversion, portfolio health, upgrade rates, and campaign progress.
  • Deliver strategic portfolio and capacity analysis that equips operational teams with the intelligence they need to optimize fundraiser assignments, close capacity gaps, and act on high-potential upgrade and re-engagement opportunities.
  • Establish the KPIs and success metrics that hold the donor intelligence function accountable to fundraising impact, and ensure the resulting data sets are delivered to the operations team to inform execution and performance tracking
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to deepen donor intelligence capabilities and accelerate prospecting at scale.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance practices to ensure accuracy and integrity across all systems and outputs.

Prospect Strategy & Pipeline Development

  • Set the strategic direction for prospect research and identification, ensuring the function proactively feeds the major gifts and campaign pipeline with qualified, high-value prospects.
  • Oversee the delivery of timely, high-quality research profiles, briefings, and due diligence that enable senior fundraisers to engage with confidence.
  • Drive innovation in prospect identification through wealth screening, data mining, predictive analytics, and community network analysis.
  • Develop and refine prospecting policies, processes, and frameworks that support the Integrated Development division's growth objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising analytics, prospect research, data strategy, or nonprofit development, with increasing strategic leadership responsibility.
  • 3+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing staff, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence beyond direct reports.
  • Passionate advocate and visible champion of UJA’s mission, values, and goals, inspiring others through action and unwavering commitment to advancing our shared purpose.
  • Proven track record of driving fundraising outcomes through data — not just delivering reports, but shaping strategy and influencing organizational decisions.
  • Deep expertise in predictive modeling, donor scoring, portfolio segmentation, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Proficient with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and experienced working with large, complex datasets.
  • Strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies, with a track record of implementing tools that drive efficiency and strategic advantage.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to senior leadership, and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Familiarity with donor intelligence and wealth screening platforms such as iWave or similar tools.
  • Actively engaged in, and/or familiar with groups, networks, or organizations in the Jewish community, with the ability to engage, build relationships, and surface potential new donor prospects.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance strategic priorities and operational demands.
  • Maintains a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and respect for donor privacy.
