The purpose of this consultancy is to support the implementation, coordination, and learning journey of the Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education (2026–2027). Building on earlier research and documentation phases, this consultancy will support:

  • The delivery and coherence of the fellowship learning journey
  • Coordination across fellows, senior fellows, and partners
  • Development of curriculum, session design, and learning materials
  • Structured documentation and synthesis of youth-led climate education Bright Spots
  • Identification and documentation of additional promising initiatives from 18K broader applicant pool
  • Translation of insights into evidence, policy-relevant outputs, and knowledge products

The consultant will contribute to ensuring that the Fellowship functions as a coherent, connected learning and systems platform, supporting UNICEF’s broader work on climate education, youth participation, and intergenerational governance.

The objective of this consultancy is to provide focused, time-bound coordination, research, and synthesis support to the Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education by:
• Supporting the delivery and coordination of the Fellowship learning journey, including curriculum development,
session preparation, adaptation of content and engagement with fellows and contributors.
• Guiding documentation and analysis of youth-led climate education Bright Spots, including selected initiatives
and additional promising approaches emerging from the broader applicant pool.
• Contributing to cross-initiative synthesis and knowledge production, generating research, learning, and policy relevant
inputs that strengthen coherence across Fellowship outputs and inform UNICEF’s work on climate
education, child-centred learning, and intergenerational governance.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, International Development, Education, Climate Science, or related field (master's degree in progress is an advantage); Bachelor’s degree in Coordination, Climate Education, Research, Futures Thinking and Foresight, Training and Facilitation, Youth Engagement, Evidence Synthesis, Writing or another technical field relevant to the work of UNICEF.

Work Experience:

•     2-3 years of experience in climate action, youth engagement, advocacy, education, or research activities (internships and volunteer experience in climate-focused organizations will be considered);

•     Demonstrated interest in youth climate leadership and climate education through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities;

•     Strong research and analytical skills with experience in literature reviews and qualitative research methods;

•     Knowledge and experience of convening in virtual settings, with strong familiarity with digital workspaces, communication tools and conferencing platforms;

•     Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with experience developing outreach materials or documentation;

•     Proficiency with digital collaboration tools and online research platforms;

•     Experience participating in or supporting climate initiatives, youth networks, or educational programs;

•     Ability to work independently while managing multiple deliverables and timelines;

•     Ability to work in a multicultural environment

•     Fluency in English
