Under the supervision of the UNICEF WASH Specialist, the consultant will support implementation of the programme through the following responsibilities:
Support Programme Planning and Coordination
Technical Support and Implementation
Monitoring, Quality Assurance and Reporting
Capacity Development and Institutional Support

Requirements

  • Fluent in Portuguese, spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of the local language in the project area will be an advantage
  • A Bachelor degree  Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related field
  • Minimum Bachelor in Civil Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience in WASH programmes in general and including at least 3 years of experience in the construction or supervision of water supply and institutional sanitation construction works.
  • Proven experience in water supply and WASH in institutions projects
  • Solid knowledge in solar water supply systems
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management is an advantage
  • Experience working with government and partners
  • Experience working in Zambezia and Nampula provinces is an asset

  • A detailed technical proposal including a working methodology description, including clear timeline, risk mitigation measures and quality assurance. Maximum 6 pages.
