UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

At UNICEF, we are committed, passionate, and proud of what we do for as long as we are needed. Promoting the rights of every child is not just a job – it is a calling.

UNICEF is a place where careers are built. We offer our staff diverse opportunities for professional and personal development that will help them reinforce a sense of purpose while serving children and communities across the world. We welcome everyone who wants to belong and grow in a diverse and passionate culture, coupled with an attractive compensation and benefits package.

The WEG Section of UNICEF’s GCA Division manages global digital channels, including unicef.org, social media, and multimedia content, and oversees the Drupal-based web platform while supporting offices worldwide. Platform development runs in bi-weekly sprints grouped into releases, with updates deployed after thorough testing to ensure stability for 800+ users. Under the Digital Communication Specialist, the consultant will conduct quality assurance over 8 months, including feature testing, user acceptance, and pre- and post-release checks.

The consultant will be part of a team that will perform release related quality assurance activities to ensure uninterrupted operation of the platform’s CMS and continuous availability of the UNICEF websites. The testing will require use of the Drupal CMS to perform actions as prescribed in the test cases. Those actions may include managing content and administering site configuration using the CMS backend interface. The consultant will be required to identify and report defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues in a structured format using project management tools such as Trello and Microsoft Visual Studio. For each of the five platform releases (releases 68–72) during the contract period, the consultant will: perform sanity check testing by executing a minimum of 80 test cases; perform post-deployment spot check testing by executing a minimum of 20 test cases; and review visual regression test results and confirm no false positives.
