Research Lab Coordinator, Department of Psychology

As the University’s largest and most varied academic unit, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is comprised of artists, learners, performers, scholars, scientists, and teachers across 21+ departments, programs, schools, and centers and acts as a central hub where many of the University's disciplines intersect. Nearly all 6,000 undergraduates at the University take liberal arts courses with us, and about one-third of these students declare a first major in a CAHSS program. Most of our departments, programs and schools offer masters or doctoral programs. ACCTION Team

The ACCTION Team or Dr. Smith’s lab is in the Department of Psychology. This team is dedicated to culturally responsive mental health interventions and assessments for Black, Indigenous, Latiné, and Multicultural youth with ADHD.

The Research Lab Coordinator will be responsible for a number of tasks related to foundation-funded studies, some clinical science research studies and some on community-based interventions (e.g., programs, teens, families). The primary responsibilities for the Research Lab Coordinator are assisting Principal Investigators and the study team with all stages of the research, from IRB submission and maintenance, recruiting/enrolling participants, running with research study visits and administering surveys, and data entry and cleaning. Administrative and clerical tasks are also included, such as scheduling, note taking, other record keeping, database management, and purchasing office supplies and materials. The Research Lab Coordinator will work very closely with other project staff and community partners, and therefore must have excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires an in-person, flexible schedule and the ability to travel to various locations around metro Denver. The position is full-time and comes with University of Denver’s full benefits package.

The primary responsibilities for the Research Lab Coordinator are:

• Outreach to participants, managing data, and data collection (e.g., participant enrollment, survey administration)
• Community outreach and working with community partners
• Other research-related tasks (e.g., IRB, literature reviews, publication and grant support)
• Administrative meetings
• Dissemination of research on social media
• Supervision of research assistants and supporting graduate students
• Other duties as assigned

• Strong interpersonal skills, particularly when working with adolescents and families
• Strong statistical skills
• Strong reasoning ability
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people in person, by phone, through written project materials and by email
• Ability to draft narrative reports and correspondence
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), SPSS, REDCap
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Possess high degree of motivation and decision making skills

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of research experience (e.g., in an undergraduate lab, study coordinator role)
• 1-3 years of community engagement (e.g., volunteering with community groups, working with non-profits)

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, REDCap, Qualtrics
• Prior experience working as a research assistant in psychology research
• Fluency in Spanish
• Familiarity with social media dissemination of research
• Oral presentation skills to community partners
• Familiarity with assessments (e.g., WISC, WIAT, WASI) and/or clinical interviews

• Standard office environment.

• Noise level is quiet to moderate.

• Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
